Amanda Hills
Managing Director


During Amanda's distinguished career, she has held numerous prestigious travel industry roles both in the UK and overseas. Her CV comprises a series of highpoints that includes General Manager for the International Leisure Group, Consumer Marketing Manager at Eurotunnel and Marketing Manager of Sunworld, a venture she set up with a group of fellow leading industry players.

Amanda established her own company, Interface International, in 1999, building a portfolio of leading clients and developing ‘traditional’ PR methods to focus on brand marketing activity and, in doing so, consistently won increased market share for her clients for minimum expenditure.

In 2002 Interface International merged with Blue Marketing to create Hills Balfour, specialising in destination marketing for Europe, and boasting a high profile client list which has included New York City, Seychelles, Kenya, Fiji, Cook Islands, Hawaii, Bermuda and Atlantic City.

With over 20 years' travel industry experience and with key contacts at the sharp end of both the media and trade, Amanda enjoys a reputation as a leading light in the industry.

Julian Mills
Executive Director - Operations


Julian's 25 years in sales, marketing and international travel has given him numerous and varied experiences. As captain one of the world’s most beautiful sailing yachts, he has visited many of the most coveted destinations around the globe while as Director of Special Projects for a UK multi-national company, he has worked across Europe, the Far East and Australia.

Most recently, as a project management consultant, he managed several North and South Pole expeditions, advised on new business start-ups and has overseen the re-launch of a marine publishing group. He has also gained invaluable experience working with The David Shepherd Conservation Foundation as both a trustee and a member of their Steering Committee

Jonathan Sloan
PR Director


After falling into travel PR by accident, before he knew it, Jonathan had a reputation, spanning 10 years, as a major player in PR and marketing in the travel, hotel and restaurant sectors. Both in-house and agency side, his clients have included hotels, tour operators, airlines, cruise lines and restaurant groups, while Jonathan's extensive media experience has seen him working across all mediums both travel and non-travel in the UK, USA and Europe.

Jane Nicholson
Regional Director, Queensland


With over 15 years experience in the longhaul industry, Jane boasts broad ranging experience in UK's wholesale and retail trade, with specific strengths in product, pr and consumer marketing, developing knowledge and experience across Australia, Asia, the South Pacific and Southern Africa. Her most recent role prior to joining the Hills Balfour Synergy team was at Tui UK, as acting head of product for the Austravel and Thomson Tailor-made brands, with responsibility for the product management, trading and marketing of these brands. Previous roles include product development/marketing at Dial-a-Flight and ground product director at Flight Centre UK.

Angie Sloan
Regional Director, Rest of the World


With 10 years' experience in travel and tourism and volume operators focusing on specialist markets including golf, dive, adventure, spa & the luxury markets, Angie has held a number of key roles within the industry. Five years in the Canary Islands saw her implementing product development strategies for a leading tour operator and following this she was responsible for the sales, marketing and PR activities of the Tenerife Tourist Board throughout the UK and Ireland. Since bringing her in-depth knowledge to Hills Balfour Synergy, Angie has worked on accounts including the Fiji Visitors Bureau, Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, Tourism Noosa and the Kenya Tourist Board.
Robert Wilson
Regional Director, North America


Launching his career at US Fly Drive specialist, Getaway Vacations, Robert has since held a number of enviable positions in major travel industry organisations, including Brand Development Manager at First Choice Holidays where he was responsible for identifying and developing new products, areas and markets across the UK businesses.

Robert joined Hills Balfour Synergy in 2004 following an equally enviable career break travelling in Southern & Eastern Africa, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
Ryan Levitt
PR Account Director


Joining Hills Balfour Synergy in August 2006 from Rooster PR, Ryan has directed PR campaigns for lastminute.com, the Bermuda Department of Tourism, OTC, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, VisitBrighton and Cheapflights.co.uk. Formerly a travel journalist and editor, he has written for The Independent on Sunday, Arena, Wallpaper, Thomas Cook Publishing and Jumeirah International. Prior to his involvement in the travel industry, he was a celebrity publicist for stars including Dame Judi Dench, Vanessa Redgrave, Graham Norton and Jessica Lange.
Esther Williamson

During her seven years' media experience in the travel industry, Esther has set up a successful PR department for an international timeshare organisation, gained a BA (Hons) in Business and handled the PR for Visit Florida. At Hills Balfour Synergy, she heads up several destination accounts including Kenya, Hawai‘i and Abu Dhabi Tourism.
Kevin Harris
Consumer Marketing Director


With over 10 years' experience in marketing, sales and PR roles, Kevin's focus is integrated consumer marketing campaigns which incorporate print, broadcast, online, viral, DM, POS and brand affinity activity within travel and lifestyle sectors.

This has included strategic development and implementation of fully integrated marketing activity for diverse clients including Abu Dhabi, Auvergne, Dead Sea, De Vere Hotels, Fiji, Kenya, Lido de Paris, New York City. North Carolina, and the Seychelles.

During this time, he has developed marketing partnerships with all sectors of the UK trade: volume and niche operators; retail chains; hotels; airlines and private sector partners. He possesses extensive consumer brand marketing contacts within retail, theatre & arts, food and drink, luxury goods, lifestyle, sports, music and celebrity sectors.

Prior to Hills Balfour Synergy, his roles included the onerous tasks of organising travel for the English Rugby Football Union and leading European Orchestras and musicians.
